Collector & Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), North Goa, Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS chaired a review meeting today to assess monsoon preparedness across the North Goa district participated by ​key stakeholders including Deputy Collectors and Mamlatdars, and representatives from the Directorate of Panchayats, Municipal Administration, WRD, PWD, Electricity, Fire & Emergency services and other key stakeholders.

Various directions were given including setting up of taluka level control rooms, taking preventive measures to address water logging including desilting and clearing of drains, taking preventive action regarding landslide and flood prone areas, cutting of dangerous trees, monitoring of water levels in dams.

Directions were also issued to the highway authorities to take adequate monsoon preparedness steps in view of contruction work of the elevated corridor on NH 66.

All deputy collectors were directed to hold sub-division level meetings to review the status of monsoon preparedness works.
