The India Culinary Challenge 2026, an inter-state professional culinary competition, was organised by the Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), Goa, the Culinary Forum of Goa, and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) at the V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education, Raia, Salcete.

The first preliminary round was held in South Goa, with 16 teams participating. Guardian Angel, Curchorem, and two teams from the V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education have qualified for the final round, which will be held in Goa in September.

Similar preliminary rounds will be held in North Goa on 19 August, as well as in other cities across India, including Mumbai, Indore, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.

The aim of the competition is to create awareness among chefs about the Eat Right India initiative and promote safe, healthy, and sustainable food practices.

All participants were awarded certificates as a token of appreciation for their participation.

The competition is being conducted in two categories: the Professional Chefs category and the Culinary Students category.

FDA Director Smt. Sweta Dessai, along with chefs, culinary experts, and other distinguished guests, was present at the event.
