Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant chaired a meeting of the Freedom Fighters Welfare Committee and held detailed deliberations on matters concerning the welfare, dignity and rightful entitlements of freedom fighters and their families at Mantralaya, Porvorim.
In a significant step, the monthly Freedom Fighters’ Pension has been enhanced from ₹9,000 to ₹12,000, and Allowance increased from ₹3,000 to ₹5,000.
As a mark of honour and respect, it is decided that a Deputy Collector and a DySP will attend the last rites of deceased freedom fighters and lay a wreath on behalf of the Government.
CM assured the Committee that all genuine concerns will be addressed with sensitivity and priority, in close coordination with concerned departments, to uphold the dignity and legacy of our freedom fighters and ensure they receive their rightful benefits.
