District Magistrate (South Goa), Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, chaired a detailed review meeting along with SP South Goa to finalise arrangements for the upcoming Annual Jatra Utsav of Shree Navadurga Devi Temple, Madkaim.

ADM-I (South), ADM-III (South), Dy. Collector & SDM Ponda, Dy. Collector (South-1), Dy. Director of Panchayats (South), Health Units, Electricity Department, Dy. SP (Traffic) South and Fire Services participated.

Key directions were issued on crowd & safety management. Vendors shall be regulated and restricted from operating in marked no-vendor zones. Stalls shall be placed with adequate spacing to avoid congestion and all cooking stalls must be equipped with fire safety equipment.

A medical team with sufficient staff and an ambulance shall remain stationed for the entire duration of the Jatra. Uninterrupted power supply shall be ensured with standby generators kept ready. Fire tenders, required hydrants and adequate trained personnel shall be positioned strategically.

Emergency lanes shall be kept clear at all times. No-Parking zones, diversion of roads and designated parking spaces shall be notified as per the approved map. Magisterial officers shall remain on field for law & order and a temporary Police Outpost shall be set up with required deployment of personnel.

All departments have been directed to ensure strict compliance with these instructions. The goal is to ensure that this major annual Jatra is celebrated safely, smoothly and in a well-coordinated manner for all devotees and visitors.
