Key steps approved to strengthen Goa’s waste management system:
•Empanelment of more door-to-door collection agencies and PMCs.
•MoU with DSDE & GSPCB to launch a Waste Management Technician course; set up a Centre of Excellence for training ULBs.
•Five-way segregation in educational institutions; sanitary waste incinerators & dispensers in all Govt offices.
•Removal of legacy hazardous waste from Sunrise Zinc, Cuncolim via an authorised Pissurlem facility.
•Wet-waste vehicles for Saligao & Taleigao with GIZ funding.
•Promotion of decentralized biomethanation (CBG) via PPP.
•SINTEF (Norway) extension for C&D waste project.
•PET bottle recycling pilot with Village Recyclers Foundation, empowering women SHGs.
