Deputy Collector & Sub Divisional Magistrate, Ponda Sub-Division, Shri Shubam Naik chaired A coordination meeting on enforcement against illegal sand mining in compliance with the directions of the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay at Goa in Contempt Petition No.112(F) of 2025 in CP No.6/2021, which mandate enhanced inter-departmental coordination to curb illegal extraction, transportation and storage of sand.
The meeting was attended by all line Departments officials representing all the concerned departments. During the discussions, wherein Police and Mamlatdar informed that regular coordinated surprise inspections are already being conducted on the ground and offences have been registered in recent enforcement drives.
The Sub Divisional Magistrate, Ponda stressed the need to further strengthen surveillance measures, maintain swift response for complaints, and ensure seamless communication between departments. It was reiterated that all enforcement actions must be documented properly and reports of inspections and action taken must be furnished timely to the concerned authorities.
