A special awareness program on the theme “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” was successfully organized today at Viscount High School, Pernem. The event was conducted under the joint initiative of the Pernem Taluka Services Committee in coordination with the North Goa District Legal Services Authority, Panaji.
The program aimed at spreading legal awareness among students, especially on issues related to child rights, the POCSO Act, and gender justice. A special talk was delivered by Advocate Prasad Shahapurkar, Advocate Sameer Sawal Desai, and Advocate Murari Parab, who emphasized the importance of empowering girls through education and legal protection.
The event was graced by Headmaster Mr. Rajendra Bondre, Mrs. Tara Hadfadkar (Panch Member, Mandrem Village Panchayat), Mamata Naik (Para Legal Volunteer), and Mr. Ankush Jadhav (Court Staff).
The initiative received enthusiastic participation from the students and faculty, reinforcing the message of gender equality and child safety as part of a larger social responsibility.
