Directorate of Social Welfare, Goa the nodal office for the NAMASTE scheme (National Action for Mechanized Sanitation Ecosystem) a central scheme launched by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, felicitated Safai Karmacharis (sanitation workers) of City Corporation of Panaji, during the Namaste Day celebrations at Panaji. The NAMASTE scheme ensures the safety and dignity of sanitation workers in India by promoting safe and mechanized sanitation practices.
